There are many ways forgery can be detected. Such as, by the writing style, materials and writing utensils used on the paper, the pressure given by the writing utensil, and the marks or stains on the paper. Forgery can often be detected with the naked eye but any smaller alterations can be detected with a magnifying glass or microscope used with angled lighting can uncover most erasures ultraviolet or infrared light can expose small fragments of ink or eraser that has been forced into the fibres of the paper, as well as changes made with a different colour of ink. Just like fingerprints, how a person writes is concidered unique to each individual. This is quite helpful for document examiners to contribute to solving a case.
